Medication Non-Compliance Is A Major Medication Problem

A New Pill Dispenser design has been created to solve Medication Non-Compliance

PRLog - Jan. 31, 2013 - PHOENIX -- Why did Lee DeMar invent a programmable Pill Box with Dual Alarms? Lee was running a nursing agency, and heard all the nurses expressing angst over the fact that many of their senior patients were not taking their medications properly when they went home and were returning to the ER time after time after time. The medical term for this problem is called "medication non-compliance (or non-adherence)" Simply put, "the failure to take prescriptionmedications as needed, whejn needed in the proper doses. The need for an automatic electronic programmable pill dispenser was apparent to Mr. DeMar.

Medication non-compliance – which has been dubbedd (By the Wall Street Journal) “America’s other drug problem” – is the cause of over 100,000 deaths per yea in the U.S. alone. Prior to the MED-Q Pill box, the solution to forgetting was posit-note on the bathroom mirror. MED-Q has been designed to take advantage of technology in an affordable, reliable easy to use way.

DeMar recognized the consequences of this problem and created a pill dispenser with dual alarm to alleviate the physical and financial suffering that comes from medication errros.

Featuring a unique modern design, the Med-Q Pillbox is different than any pill organizer on the market today.  It is a self-contained, “all-in-one” electronic weekly pill organizer and electronic programmable pill dispenser .

According to DeMar, “The Med-Q Pillbox features a user-friendly design and multipurpose functionality to assist any individual in taking daily medications.  Med-Q’s programmable pill dispenser systemis a technology breakthrough for individuals and families and caregivers struggling too adhere to their daily medication regimens and live an independent life.”

A visual LED light illuminates the individual box that needs to be taken, which means not taking the wrong medication. The escalating alarm sounds at the time you program and then repeats it's 5 minute alarm every 25 minutes until the medication is taked.

With up to 80 percent of seniors making medication errors, the goal of the Med-Q alarm pill dispenser is to eliminate those medication errors. Questions can be answered at info@lifesavingpillbox.com
