19-Year-Old Canton Man Dies in Tragic Pedestrian Accident

Jan. 31, 2013 - PRLog -- Cherokee County – In the early morning hours of December 27th, 2012, just two days after Christmas, a 19-year-old Canton man was walking southbound on East Cherokee Drive near Berry Patch Road when he was struck and killed by a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was making a right turn. East Cherokee Drive was shut down for several hours following the incident while law enforcement secured the scene and gathered all the investigatory evidence.

Gordy Wright, Georgia State Patrol spokesman said, “The driver didn’t see the pedestrian in the roadway and struck him with the right front of the vehicle.” Wright also said that the driver of the PT Cruiser will not be facing criminal charges.
