Follow on Google News | International Artist Jay Koka To Exhibit Automotive Paintings At 2013 Amelia Island ConcoursAutomotive Fine Arts Society member Jay Koka will showcase several of his latest masterpieces at the 18th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
By: Automotive Fine Arts Society “Over the course of my career, I’ve explored different styles and experimented with various techniques to keep things fresh, new and exciting,” said Koka. “It is my hope that each new painting is a genuine surprise for me and my audience. The newest paintings that I’m bringing to the Amelia Island Concours are dramatically different and demonstrate the variety of exceptional vehicles that will be on display at this year’s event.” As part of the Amelia Island Concours’ automotive celebration, Koka will feature one of Europe’s notable marques through his 24” by 36” acrylic on canvas painting titled, “Delahaye 175MS.” After experimenting with a new color palette, Koka captured a stunning blue Delahaye 175M at the entrance of California’s notable landmark, the Hearst Castle, which was built to reflect Europe’s architectural styles. Taking significant artistic liberties with the positioning of the French vehicle, the painting represents a time when only A-list guests were invited into William Randolph Hearst’s palace in San Simeon, Calif. In honor of one of the featured marques of the concours, Koka will also feature his piece, “Ford GT,” which was commissioned in 2007. The original painting was done on a large 60” by 44” acrylic on canvas featuring a modern Ford GT parked distinctly in front of the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. Koka is recreating the stunning painting with 20 personally autographed and sequentially numbered canvases. Celebrated by audiences around the world for his breathtaking works of art, Koka has been the featured poster artist at multiple international events, including the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance (1992), Bloomington Gold (1996, 1997), Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance (2006, 2012), the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company (2009, 2012), the Louisville Concours d’Elegance (2008, 2009), Daytona 500 (2010), St. John’s Concours d’Elegance (2011) and the legendary 24 Hours of Daytona. In 2007, Koka was honored with a 20-year “one man” retrospective art show at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nev. Closely associated with Ferrari work, Koka has created 10 of the last 2 decades of the Ferrari Club of America’s annual event posters, and has created the art for the Ferrari Club of America’s 50th anniversary celebration project – “One Lap of North America.” Koka’s original paintings, as well as a catalog of his more than 150 prints and poster editions are featured at www.jaykokastudio.com and www.autoartprints.com.
