The individual becomes aware of the different planes of being and their interrelation. In that state of receptivity everything becomes an opportunity for expanding awareness, by being in the moment without taking anything for granted. Finding ones own pace and inner patterns and becoming aware of the inner and outer space simultaneously aids in enhancing concentration, relaxation and self-knowledge.
The exercises provide ways for individuals to discover and explore the body, and through the body, awaken the consciousness of the entire being. Many exercises and games have been incorporated from a wide variety of disciplines;
Amir Azoulay will lead this retreat. He came to India from Israel in 2000 to explore different disciplines and awaken the sense of being. He joined Auroville in 2003 and became part of the “Awareness Through the Body” program and has been offering workshops in ATB since 2005.
The Retreat will be held in Auroville, an international community 20 minutes from Puducherry in South India. It is a quiet little town, with around 2000 inhabitants. Once a barren area, Auroville has become green, thanks to reforestation. Auroville has a semitropical climate. Temperatures peak in May/June (the Summer months), and go beyond 40 degrees, while in winter (November to March) the day temperatures are between 24 and 30. The Monsoon in October/November brings the temperatures down.
