Follow on Google News | 3D Helps Bring Revolutionary Device To MarketThe Rainsafe, a revolutionary new water purification device, is set to transform the way households view and use harvested rain water and 3rd Dimension Studios are helping to explain how.
By: 3rd Dimension Studios Harvesting of rain water is big business nowadays due to economic and environmental reasons. More and more countries are encouraging the concept which involves the collection of rain water in harvesting tanks which are generally installed below ground. However one of the major constraints of harvesting rain water is that it can only be used for up to 50% of your household requirements due to the collection of dirt and bugs in the harvesting process and the stagnation of water in the harvested tanks. Therefore harvested rain water is used for toilets, irrigation and laundry leaving the remaining 50% to be supplied by municipal water supplies. However this is set to change with the revolutionary device known as the rainsafe which filters harvested rain water so it can be used for up to 100% of your household requirements, and all this without the use of any chemicals. Nicholas Polley MD of 3rd Dimension Studios explains how the project wasn’t all plain sailing. “Our brief for the project was extensive and it was important that the message being conveyed in the video was clear, precise, accurate and at the same time the video and 3D animation was to be appealing to the end user. In effect we needed to produce a video for marketing purposes without making it too technical, yet contain technical information. This was one of the major challanges of the project. The 3D animation of the Rainsafe needed to explain how the device works in order to educate consumers and build their confidence in the rainsafe. However there is a very fine line between explaining this and confusing the viewer. It took numerous iterations of the script to get it exactly right and this combined with first half of the video makes it work. Through careful planning, script writing and precise and realistic 3D animation, we produced a marketing video that ticked all the boxes without being too technical.” The video is now been used worldwide as a marketing and promotion tool and 3rd Dimension Studios are in the process of working with a translation company in Ireland in order to produce the video in a number of different languages. Whilst harvesting rain water is not common in Ireland it is second nature to many countries around the world and it is likely to become even more popular with the Rainsafe.
