After reading the ebook 3 times, I outlined 8 different ebooks that I know I could write pretty easily, based on my expert knowledge. . . . I wanted to see if you have any advice for me as I'm entering the final stage of completing my content, because I know there is next stage with marketing, website, etc."
One thing this author mentioned is that while he had no problem writing ebooks, he didn’t really care for the marketing side of things, which brings me to the title of this post.

Ebook Marketing: 2 Things Every New Self-Publisher Needs to Know
Following are two things I tell all new self-publishers to get used to – because if you don’t, you can forget being successful selling ebooks online.
(i) Don’t Investing in Marketing Methods You Can’t Afford to Repeat: You’ll just be wasting your money if you do. Why? Because marketing must be consistent to be effective.

For example, let’s say you have a $500 budget and you decide to run a pay-per-click campaign. Let’s further say that you luck up and sell a hundred (100) copies. FYI, this is a very generous number; most newbies only sell a handful of copies per month. I know this from first-hand experience.
If your ebook is priced at $3.99, a common price for many ebooks sold on Amazon for Kindle, your earnings would be approximately $2.80 per ebook sold (after Amazon takes their 30% cut). So, you’d earn $280 in ebook sales. This isn’t enough to recoup your initial investment. So now what do you do?
Most likely, you’re going to have to switch ebook marketing strategies to start seeing sales again; in essence start from scratch. And this is why you shouldn’t invest in ebook marketing tactics you can’t afford to repeat, which brings me to my next tip which is to . . .
(ii) Create a Long-Term, Achievable Ebook Marketing Plan: Think a year out, ie, what are you willing to commit to – and can afford -- for the next year.
