After a self imposed hiatus, one of ADAM FREELAND’S favorite Breakbeat artists finally releases his debut album, appropriately titled ATOM SMASHER.
Selected to start side 2 of FREELAND’S seminal COASTAL BREAKS, and described by MUZIK magazine as one of the album’s “Key Players”, ATOM SMASHER mysteriously moved to Los Angeles, turned down a record deal with R&S and stopped releasing music to pursue movie making & running a horror film festival.
But he never stopped recording.
“I always make music - it’s in my blood - even on the train thanks to my iPad.”

Prior to COASTAL BREAKS he released a series of 12inch vinyl tunes, all critically acclaimed in the UK Press:
“Rips radical shapes on the post-trip hop dancefloor” (Calvin Bush - MUZIK)
“Has enough acid to poison entire reservoirs” (Dom Philips - MIXMAG)
“Pure distorted jazz in the Hammer House” (Martin James - MELODY MAKER)
“The breaks attain a Richter Scale reading” (Veena Virdi - MUZIK)
To launch the new album, ATOM SMASHER’S first single, FIZZ DIGGER is an old-skool, 303-charged floor-driver of a song.
“I just love the 303. it’s got such a great crunchy, killer sound.”
The accompanying video by Miles Flanagan is quite an eye-opener too.
“We wanted to approach the video in the same way I approach breakbeats. So he re-purposed some old footage he’d shot and the results are simply crazy!”
Plans for the future?
“Oh, I have about 20 more albums left in me, then I may retire!”
Well, ATOM SMASHER is certainly back.
The new album & single are available on iTunes, Amazon and Spofify.
