What: Leading Ladies: Go Red – “Heart Healthy At Every Age” is a free community event designed to help the American Heart Association fight the nation's number one and number three causes of death—heart disease and stroke—by raising awareness about the importance of living a healthy life.

Hosted by the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association Health Equity Alliances, the Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Upsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Theta Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the focus of this year’s Leading Ladies: Go Red – “Heart Healthy At Every Age” event is to promote the importance of physical activity to heart health.

Highlights of the day will include interactive heart health workshops for women, youth, and men; heart healthy ways to get moving; give-a-ways; blood pressure screenings; healthy food tastings and more.

The Theta Pi Omega and Epsilon Upsilon Omega Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. have served the Burlington, Camden and Gloucester County, and Mercer County communities for 45 and 60 years, respectively. Both chapters have had the distinction of hosting sorority events on the state, regional and international level. These chapters have also received recognition for their supreme service to all mankind for the following signature programs: Emerging Young Leaders mentoring programs, health fairs, social justice programming, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. activities.

The Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been serving several Burlington County communities for over 35 years through the Five Point Programmatic Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. This chapter strives to work collaboratively with the community with its signature programs Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Delta GEMS, Delta Days at the state and United States Capital, Community recognition events, scholarship and recognition awards, and more.
