Scream Guitars is releasing the first six custom pieces in the Lennie Jones Collection on February 4. They will feature Jones’ unique portraits of Johnny Cash, Jerry Garcia, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson and Keith Richards. Company President Kurt Kiehnle said he is honored to be working with Jones, a self-taught folk art painter who lives and works in the Everglades.
“We are excited about the opportunity to showcase Lennie’s beautiful paintings on our handmade guitars,” said Kiehnle. “Not only do we know they’ll be a huge hit with guitar and music collectors, but we’re also confident that they’ll increase the general public’s appreciation of Lennie’s work.”
Jones will include all six guitars in the opening night reception for his “Roots and Branches” show on March 1 at the Arts for ACT Gallery in downtown Fort Myers, and Scream Guitars will display the guitars at the 2013 Bonita Blues Festival March 8 and 9 in Riverside Park in Bonita Springs.
Jones, who does not create prints or other reproductions from his original paintings, said he acquiesced to the idea when he saw the high quality and reasonable price of the Scream Guitars. Jones prides himself on keeping his artwork affordable, saying his biggest collectors are “average people,” and was pleased that the guitars will have a reasonable price point of just over $500.
“The thing that really sold me is that Scream Guitars wants to provide a quality product and they want their guitars to be affordable,”
