By: John Beth consulting London Business School’s MiM 2012 Employment Report shows that even in an increasingly crowded job market, the class of 2012 ( which was the School’s largest to date) stood out from the crowd. Of the diverse class, which comprised 144 students from 38 countries, an impressive 40% took up roles in the highly competitive consulting sector – a consistent trend for the School. 32% went into finance and 28% took up posts in the corporate governance and corporate finance sector, with media and entertainment the most popular destination attracting 10% of graduates. The best paid graduates were earning £68,937, with the average salary being £33,000, 74% higher than the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA) average for first degree graduates*. Fiona Sandford, Executive Director, Careers and Global Business, explained the School’s success: “We work closely with employers, alumni and the wider School to equip our Masters in Management graduates with the leadership skills, business knowledge and global perspective to excel. “MiM graduates have also benefited from exposure to potential employers through our dedicated career week and workshops. 70% of this year’s graduates met their employers through London Business School’s Career Services, alumni or networking and club events.” More information, including details of the locations and sectors graduates have been employed in, and a list of their 84 recruiters can be found here. London Business School’s presence in the international market has grown as a result of its new ‘Global Immersion Trip’ in partnership with Stockholm School of Economics. The School, which already partners with IE Business School in Madrid, also looks forward to adding two more trips to Brussels and Paris this academic year. London Business School is making innovation happen and leading change every step along the way providing graduates with the necessary leadership skills for today's business world.
