Jan. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Hackettstown, N.J. (Tuesday, January 29, 2013) – The Express refused to let the Wizards perform any magic on them in their house, running over there NY rival 105-77.  The Express move to 6-1, and are making its move in the overall ABA league power rankings.

The Wizards came to town, with a high-flying reputation, and an eye on an upset.  Fortunately, the Express wanted no part of it, and drive the point home.  The first quarter was as close as the game would be; with the Express holding a 22-21 lead.  Almin Hodzic finished the 1st with 6pts & 5 rebounds leading a balanced attack, with 6 Express players scoring in the qtr.

At the start of the 2nd, the Express were honed in, with the bench accounting for half of the scoring, and not missing a step.  Ja’Shon Mixon finished the qtr with 6, and again 7 players scored in the qtr, as the ball was shared, leading to a 43-37 half-time lead.

The Express came out hitting on all cylinders in the 3rd, with Devon Young leading the way, with 6pts, again 7 players scored in the qtr, with the lead ballooning to 18pts.  Young again was on fire in the 4th, adding 11, while knocking down 3, 3’s.  SuQuan Gary added 6pts, and 5rbds.  Michael Edghill added 8, and finished the game at the buzzer, with a monster left-handed slam, that sent the fans into frenzy!  The Express scored 37pts in the qtr, which made-up the final score of 105-77.

Head Coach Ray Ortiz stated; I have to say that our bench picked up where our regulars lacked.  Everyone is beginning to know their role on the team and it is becoming a pleasure to watch.  Although we still need to get better at knowing our defensive assignments’.  ‘We are starting to trust one another and have gained more and more chemistry each game.  It’s the main reason for the great basketball that we have been playing lately; stated Devon Young.
