When to stop paying for warehouse storage space for your equipment

Businesses large and small pay millions of dollars every month, perhaps needlessly, storing excess equipment and machinery in warehouses across the US, when is it time to stop paying for storage and turn the used equipment into cash?

Jan. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- I am going to be brutally honest here -- in my opinion, the only reasons to pay for warehouse storage are:

1. A closing of the business, and the equipment has to be put somewhere while you look for a new location in the same type of business.
2. A big move that is on the horizon at one of your other locations that requires temporary storage while you figure out logistics.
3. You are involved in activities that involves equipment that doesn't fit at your current location that you can access as needed to make money with.

That's it. If you are paying for warehouse storage to hold just your unused equipment, you have too much of it and you may be costing yourself too much in monthly fees to warrant the warehousing charges.

If you decide that you want to stop paying the fees and sell the equipment, there are many ways to do so.

Ebay, Craigslist, machinery and equipment dealers along with online auctioneers may offer a quick venue to liquidate the equipment

There is also an equipment company in the Midwest called uglyequipment.com that buys and sells machinery that may need some TLC, they buy to refurbish, recondition and repair restaurant industrial machinery equipment , commercial vehicles, semi's, forklifts, machine shops, pallet rack, cargo vans and heavy equipment
