In what it is slated to be one of the most highly anticipated events of the BiT line up, #BlackHack Hollywood will bring minority coders and developers to build new and innovative apps and websites in the music and film arena in a friendly competitive format. #BlackHack attendees are exposed to a wealth of industry insights and business consulting and have the opportunity to get their resumes in the hands of top tech corporations. While building projects on site for little to no cost, #BlackHacks are a novel way for budding entrepreneurs to get their projects off the ground and an unmatched opportunity to network, meet and recruit top minority tech talent from around the world.
“Over the years SXSW has consistently brought together some of the greatest minds in music, film and technology. #BlackHack Hollywood will help to bring those talents together in a collaborative effort to promote innovation amongst minorities and to bridge the great digital divide,” says #BlackGirlsHack CMO Amanda Spann.
“We are beyond excited to be bringing some blerdy goodness to SXSW to celebrate black tech and explore the many possibilities for technological innovation in the entertainment industry,” adds #BlackGirlsHack CEO Kat Calvin.
#BlackGirlsHack aims to enhance, elevate and expand the black tech community by building relationships and promoting continued learning. The emerging social enterprise actively works to offer personal and professional support to progressive individuals and to pay it forward through collective change.
