Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- For the second year in row, factoring invoices (http://universalfunding.com/) company, Universal Funding Corporation  co-sponsored the annual Child Abuse Prevention Benefit put on by the local Exchange Club in Spokane, Washington.

The benefit occurs annually in December and supports local nonprofit organizations in Spokane such as the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, the Children’s Home Society and the Spokane Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Center.

The 2012 benefit  that was held last month, raised awareness and over $370,000.00 for these local children support organizations.

The Exchange Clubs and Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Centers across the country believe that secure and healthy families are the foundation of healthy and safe homes as well as strong communities.  They promote this belief by providing supportive services and educational programs in communities like Spokane.

At the heart of the effort is the Exchange Parent Aide program, where Parent Aides are professionally trained and supervised individuals who work in the homes of families to provide education and support. Parent Aides are mentors for families.

The monies raised at the benefit will provide valuable resources to other organizations in Spokane like SCAN.  The mission at Spokane Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Center, also known as SCAN,  is “keeping children safe from abuse and neglect through education, training, and mentoring”.

To fulfill this mission, SCAN serves 250 families per month through programs that help reunite and strengthen families by providing individual and group counseling and parenting education, monitored visitation and reunification of parents with their children, and fatherhood support and training programs.
