Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Walters Homes recently broke ground on two six-unit townhouse buildings at Whispering Hills, nearly selling out the second building within the first two weeks. The Whispering Hills community is situated on 85 acres off Rose Hill Road in southern Ocean County.
"We're seeing phenomenal interest for new townhomes at Whispering Hills because they are attractive to a wide range of homeowners," said Michele Bowcock, Walters Homes sales representative.

The LEED-Silver certified townhouses are also desirable for their eco-friendly features such as Energy-Star rated appliances, designed to help residents save as much as 35 percent on energy usage. The community has access to walking trails and is close to a 28-acre conservation area and the bay beach. Whispering Hills also consists of single-family homes and apartments.

Buyers can still purchase one downhill townhouse in Building 11, a Heather model priced at $227,295. Four uphill units are still available in Building 19, according to Bowcock. Both buildings are expected to be completed this summer. Whispering Hills Townhomes consist of three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, ranging from 1,995 square feet to 2,191 square feet. Only three of the four models are currently available - Heather, Willow, and Meadow. The Bayberry models have all sold out.

"The Heather has been our most popular model because it offers a spacious open floor plan with virtually no interior walls," said Bowcock. "We're also seeing a lot of prospective buyers coming with extended families such as a parent who will be sharing the home," she added. "The layout of the uphill unit is ideal in those situations because it's a three-story home, offering a separate living area on the lower floor with a bedroom, an optional full bath, and a separate entrance."

Once the remaining five townhomes are sold, Walters will begin marketing Building 20, consisting of six uphill Willow and Meadow models. The building is slated to be completed in the fall of 2014.

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF 2012 PRICING

The Walters Homes' Super Bowl weekend sales event on February 2 and 3 will be the last chance consumers have to buy a Walters home at 2012 pricing. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Whispering Hills and Ocean Acres at Barnegat sales offices. A drawing for a flat-screen television will be held at each community's sales office on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. Winners must be present to win. Refreshments will be served.

"Buyers should take advantage of this sales event to lock in 2012 sales prices," advised Bowcock. "Effective February 4, base prices will increase."

Visitors will have the option of touring model homes at both locations throughout the sales event. Ocean Acres at Barnegat is a collection of three- and four-bedroom single-family homes offering two or two-and-one half bathrooms, and between 1,500 and 3,100 square feet of living space. Ranch- and Colonial-style floor plans are available, each with a long list of desired options. Prices start from about $239,995.
