Jan. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- MONROEVILLE, PA — In response to the recently passed Covered Device Act, which prohibits Pennsylvania residents from disposing of electronic devices in the garbage, Commonwealth Computer Recycling is offering free disposal services for area residents and small businesses.

The company’s next event, to take place February 2 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Monroeville, will allow community members to bring in unused or unwanted electronics—including computers, televisions, cell phones, printers, batteries and any other consumer or office electronics—for safe disposal.

“Electronic devices can do a great deal of harm to the environment if disposed of improperly, which is why it is now illegal to do so in our state,” said Serdar Bankaci, founder of Commonwealth Computer Recycling. “We are very pleased to offer these free events to allow residents and business owners to recycle their computers, laptops, televisions and other consumer electronics.”

Commonwealth Computer Recycling offers an environmentally responsible means for Pennsylvania residents to get rid of outdated, broken or unneeded electronic devices and appliances. The company also provides onsite hard drive data destruction at its events for a minimal charge of $10 per hard drive.

The free recycling events hosted by Commonwealth Computer Recycling are available to local individuals and families, as well as organizations that employ fewer than 50 people. In addition to the collection in Monroeville, the company will be holding weekly events in Allegheny, Westmoreland and other communities throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

“We have been proud to serve the community as a trusted source for electronics disposal for years, and our services are in even greater demand with the passage of recent laws at the state level,” said Bankaci. “We are making it easy to follow the law at little or no cost to you, while protecting your sensitive information and personal data.”

The Feb. 2 collection will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel near the Monroeville Mall, located at 101 Mall Blvd. To learn more about Commonwealth Computer Recycling and to access a schedule of the company’s electronics recycling events, visit http://www.ccrcyber.com/.
