Follow on Google News | MICAn film ‘Catch-22’ wins first prize at the India Fest 2013The film ‘Catch-22’ made on the theme ‘Explore more’, won the hearts of the audience and judge Bejoy Nambiar – an acclaimed filmmaker from Bollywood and the director of Shaitan.
The team from MICA consisted of six Crafting Creative Communications (CCC) students: Jacob Anand, Richa Koparday, Karan Kaul, Shiv Verma, Kali Mukherjee and Abhishek Lamba. This prestigious win at the much acclaimed competition means that the team from MICA has not only brought home cash prize and goodies worth Rs.60,000, but also got a golden goose for the director and the editor of the film, Abhishek Lamba, currently a student of MICA - CCC. Abhishek has won himself a chance to direct a television commercial for the title sponsor of the event- Woodland. Thrilled by the achievement and the deluge of accolades coming their way, upbeat Abhishek is still coming to terms with the magnitude of his achievement. “The feeling is still sinking in! I wish the duration of the course was longer, so that I could have gauged myself at international festivals” beams the confident director of a film that Bejoy Nambiar claims is “Exciting to the hilt!” The film is scheduled to be screened on Channel [V] and Star Movies. Over 1500 students participated in various events over two days. The fest also had attendees like Farhan Akhtar, Shankar Ehsaan and Loy. End
