Owner and Director of Physical Therapy, Dan Lorenz, has extensive experience in sports and orthopedic physical therapy. He’s been practicing for twelve years as a physical therapist, and has several years of experience treating injured workers and helping case managers. He is Kansas City’s only fellowship-trained physical therapist in sports medicine.
“Our approach to rehabilitation of the injured worker is much like the approach we take for an injured athlete. An injured athlete needs pain relief, restoration of range of motion, strength, and power, and an appropriate level of conditioning to get back on the field to tolerate the demands of sport,” Lorenz commented. “An injured worker has to have improvements in their physical qualities (endurance, strength, power) to tolerate the demands of long, laborious work days over several years. Therefore, we will train them to prepare them for those demands.”
Specialists in Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation opened in April 2012 and offers physical therapy and personal/performance enhancement services. In addition, they offer a “physical therapy gym” membership for patients once formal physical therapy has ceased.
