Energy Optimization Software Makes Geothermal As Affordable As Conventional HVAC

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 28, 2013 - Greensleeves’ building energy optimization software, the GeoModule™, creates new economics for geothermal HVAC Systems by reducing the size of the ground source heat exchanger by 52 – 71%.  The cost of building the heat exchanger has historically added a significant premium to the cost of geothermal systems.  Now for the first time, geothermal systems can compete directly with conventional HVAC on a first cost basis in a wide range of applications.  This breakthrough ushers in a new generation of cost effective, intelligent thermal management technology – and saves owners more than 50% of building HVAC energy.  

The GeoModule software is capable of optimizing the process for capturing energy from multiple environmental and artificial sources then returning excess energy to the environment in the most efficient manner possible.  It has been used and tested in the design and operation of multiple hybrid geothermal systems.  “The system makes unique use of geothermal to store and time shift energy – allowing the system to use day/night and seasonal temperature swings as a significant source of energy,” said Stephen Hamstra, CTO.
