Currently, one-third of U.S. workers, more than 42 million people, work as freelancers or independent contractors. “Writing is just one way people are building careers on their own terms, making the money they want and enjoying the flexibility they desire,” she said.
Edson added that she found freelance writing to be a rewarding, challenging career. “Not only do I get to choose whom I work with and what I work on, I get to learn something new every day. How many people can say that?” she asked.
