The 2013 Volvo S60 (http://www.volvooakpark.com/
• Whiplash-reducing head restraints
• Stability and traction control
• Anti-lock brakes
• Side and side curtain airbags
• Volvo's City Safety package
The Volvo City Safety package is composed of sensors and warning systems built to help prevent a driver from rear-ending another vehicle or hitting a stationary object by applying the brakes with enough force to bring the vehicle to a full stop if traveling under 19 mph.
Furthermore, an optional feature on the S60 is Volvo's technology package, which adds on pedestrian detecting technology, driver inattention warnings, and lane departure warnings.
In order to earn the Top Safety Pick+ designation, a vehicle must earn the highest rankings from the IIHS in four out of five different evaluations:
• Moderate overlap frontal crash
• Small overlap frontal crash
• Side impact
• Rollover
• Whiplash protection/prevention
In the event that a vehicle does not receive perfect scores in all five, the fifth criterion must not be lower than “acceptable,”
The S60 is one of only two mid-size luxury vehicles that have earned the new designation.
