Cherry Tree Recording Artist Colette Carr Premieres Video for New Single “Why Are You Leaving”

Today Cherrytree- Interscope recording artist Colette Carr released her video for “Why Are You Leaving” the first single off her album EP collection titled SKITSZO part 2. “Why Are You Leaving” is produced and written by Cherrytree Records founder Martin Kierszenbaum, also known as producer Cherry Cherry Boom Boom, and features Kev Nish, friend and Cherrytree label mate of group Far East Movement.

Colette Carr is releasing music as fast as she makes it via a series of four digital EP installments - one every two months, until the release of her full debut album SKITZSO on Cherrytree Records on July 9th.

Just last month, not only did Colette hit #1 on the Hype Machine chart with her cover of The Waitresses' classic holiday track "Christmas Wrapping"- a collaboration with U.K. electro-pop band The Good Natured, but EQ Music Blog named SKITZSO Part 1 one of the Top 20 Best Albums of 2012.

Carr originally announced that her album would be released in November 2011. Carr released her first promotional single, "Back It Up" in 2009,

"SKITZSO" is a tribute to Carr's uncle, who was schizophrenic. "“It’s also a tribute to my uncle who suffered from schizophrenia, but more than that it’s a tribute to the man who showed me what true and pure creativity was before he passed away two years ago," said Carr. She described the style of the album as, "musically schizophrenic." Her uncle also inspired the video for Carr's previous single, "Back It Up."

The album will be released under '"Interscope", "Cherrytree Records". On September 27, 2012 Carr announced that her album would be released in four digital EP's, each released two months apart. Then, on July 9, 2013, the full physical album will be released, featuring all the songs from the EP's, plus four new ones. Carr will also release video's for each of the EP's. It was available for pre-order on November 7, 2012.

Colette's videos have now racked up more than 3.5 million video views on her VEVO channel, while her fans, whom she calls "goers" because "they make it go," pay tribute to her by making their own video homages and faithfully following her blog. SKITZSO Part 1 and 2 are available now.
