The Countdown Is On To Experience Canada’s First Week EVER Dedicated to Poutine!

Jan. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Food Week Inc. presents Poutine Week Montreal. After a successful Burger Week MTL last September, Poutine Week MTL is the latest addition to the fun food weeks. It’s a unique dining experience that invites you to discover and savour special poutines at special prices. Online votes and a few celebrity tasters will help crown one of the city's best poutines!

Poutine Week MTL is a fun food contest that lasts a full week and includes 30 carefully selected Montreal restaurants from all over the city. Special events, including a calorie burning fitness event and celebrity poutine parties will be held throughout the week.

Restaurants like Bevo Pizzeria, La Mauvaise Réputation, Poutineville and Blackstrap BBQ will be among the 30 involved this year! Celebrity tasters like Montreal Alouettes’ Shea Emry, Radio personalities Ric Peterson and Rebecca Makonnen, Olympian Tracy Little and other surprise poutine loving Montreal celebs will take on the role of celebrity poutine tasters and connoisseurs to help determine the best poutine in the city.

The event was co-created by food blogger Le Méchant Mangeur and proceeds of this event will be going towards The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. Poutine Week Montreal is a contest, a fun food tour and a discovery tool for hungry Montrealers looking for new poutine places in this great city!

Not to sit idle and eat, organizers have planned other gastronomically-rewarding events throughout the week including:

·         Poutine-Jog: a jog through Mount Royal Park in Montreal followed by a poutine to reward participants for their calorie burning efforts

·         Launch Party: A gut-opening party at Globe Restaurant Thursday, January 31st (contact organizers for VIP invite)

·         Closing Ceremonies: a closing party at Club Suko on Saturday February 9th
