Described as the Nigeria’s Kanye West, Jesse Jagz experiments and combines different genres of music from R&B to roots reggae to pop to create chart topping songs. Though a native of Jukun in Taraba State, Jesse grew up in Jos, in a music-filled environment where both parents gave him access to the church choir and drums set by age seven. He recorded his first album with a group named Gospel Insanity but the album never got released due to the disbanding of the group members. Jesse started producing beats professionally, formed another group, "Eleven Thirty" which quickly became a huge success in Jos.
In 2004, Jesse met MI and together started Inner Hub Studios. By 2006, Jesse started a solo career with a debut-hit "Africa" that remained at #1 on the Cool FM chart for months.
Undoubtedly the most talented country in the continent, Nigeria artists have taken a leading role in shaping the entertainment scene both home and abroad. With the success of D’Banj whose world renowned smash hit “Oliver Twist” and TuFace Idibia, who won the MTV Best African artist award for his hit single “African Queen”, Afro-Urban music is now a regular fixture on radio stations and dance floors across the world.
Organized by Black Gold Entertainment and Double Tee Records, a joint venture Events Management Company based in Dubai and Lagos the Afro-Urban festival is a platform for all afro beat music lovers to have a unique experience.
