For Foreign Companies investing in the U.S. - A Single Source Service Begins

Several key players involved in international business development have formed a company whose sole purpose is to facilitate foreign investment in the United States. One of these is Ken Libby, of Stowe, Vermont.

Jan. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- A company called Invest-American L.L.C. has begun to market its services to international companies and investors desiring to establish themselves in the United States. Among the founding members is a long-time major player on the national and international scene, Ken Libby of Stowe, Vermont.

A Realtor since 1979, Ken has actively listed and sold residential and commercial investment properties in northern Vermont since that time.  A Stowe resident since 1969, Ken and his wife Bunny raised three children, educated them in the Stowe school system, and now have been blessed with seven grandchildren.  For seventeen years, Ken was Police Chief in Stowe, retiring in 1992.  For over 20 years he coached softball and basketball in high school or Little League softball during the summer, winning 10 state titles in softball.  Ken mentions all of this so you will feel his depth of knowledge about the area and his commitment to Stowe and the surrounding area.  Simply stated, Ken thinks it is the best place in the world to raise a family.

Having served as the President of the Vermont Association of Realtors in 2003, Ken continued to serve NAR in a number of roles as a member of the Board of Directors and on various committees through 2012.  All this national exposure, along with his 2006 role as the National Chair for the Resort and Second Homes Committee of NAR, and his 2010 appointment as the Liaison to the NAR Global & Resort Groups provides Ken with many contacts and referrals from around the world.

Ken began to discuss the issue of assisting foreign companies in locating in the USA after reading a United States Department of Commerce Study, made in June of 2011, which indicated that the USA was poised for the next few years to become a haven for foreign investment.  As a member of Associated Realty of the Americas - http://www.areamericas.com - where he serves as President of the Advisory Board, he had an initial discussion about this with the Director of the organization, Carl Bosse, in September of 2011.  That conversation resulted in the creation of a three person team to study the concept consisting of himself; Ron Phipps, then President of the National Association of Realtors, and Carl Bosse.

Ken Libby stated that the original concept "really got some legs within the group" after an inquiry was made from a prominent broker in Frankfurt, Germany, who wanted assistance in helping a Swiss firm locate a manufacturing plant in the United States.

"So," he states, "we began to study who and what is available for "non-aligned" foreign investors to facilitate their needs"

The question became all the more serious when Ron Phipps, former President of the National Association of Realtors, and as associate of Libby's in his Vermont office, overheard an address made by a potential Taiwanese investor during a conference of the Asian American Association of Realtors held in New York in early 2012.  During that talk the speaker lamented that, in spite of his prodigious efforts, he was unable to figure out how to establish a manufacturing facility in the U.S.A. because the issues were "so very complex", and, after five years of trying he would not be moving forward.  He scolded the group for not having the foresight to provide such a service.

The team organized and opened its door in January of 2013, under the name of INV America and the corporate name Invest-American L.L.C. - http://www.invest-american.com.

Founding Board Members, in addition to Libby, Phipps and Bosse, include a bevy of high profile members in business and industry, including Gordon McDermott, President of New Jersey based Auracom corporation, a company dealing in cultural and translation services; George Harvey, Jr., a prominent Realtor from Telluride; Bob Koch, a renowned architect from Orland; Wayne Carroll, an investor with Washington, D.C. based Jason Corporation; and Barry Beitler, a leading commercial broker in Los Angeles.

The group has three significant advantages that make its positioning unique.

First, playing off a "Road Map", designed by Bob Koch, the company has created a one day seminar, which provides, without charge, to well-qualified investors/companies, an explanation, in great detail and clarity, of what is needed - besides products, interest, money or a willing team - to successfully invest in the USA.

Second, using the resources provided through Associated Realty of the Americas, a referral group of hand selected, well-qualified members strategically located throughout the USA, the firm has highly qualified "boots on the ground" in almost every conceivable location throughout the country.  Consequently, local issues and nuances, which can become agents of disaster for unknowing investors, are much better understood.  And, as the client moves forward, having trusted local specialists in the real estate field, can result in enormous time and cost savings to the project.

Third, the organization has made a great deal of effort to team up with affiliates it can recommend to clients, who really fill in the gaps of knowledge and expertise needed in a successful venture.  These are not merely attorneys or accountants; they are true specialists in wide-ranging fields from robotics to timber investment, from title insurance to Indian gaming.  They are readily available to be used by the investor to sort out the most difficult of issues.
