Attorney James Dickinson was born in Loma Linda and attended schools in Redlands, Calimesa, Riverside and Ontario. James earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from La Sierra University; from there he went on to earn his J.D. from the University of La Verne College of Law where he also graduated with honors. While at La Verne, he received high marks in a number of courses including Moot Court Honors, Trial Advocacy, Advanced Legal Research, Constitutional Issues Seminar and Property Seminar.
James served as staff editor and senior accounts editor for the University of La Verne’s Law Review. While attending law school, he also served as a research assistant to the school’s faculty members, and he tutored first-year students. After James received the “Best Brief” award, he was selected to participate in the Hispanic National Association 17th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition.
Before joining Clayson, Mann, Yaeger & Hansen, PLC, James volunteered with the San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office. For his dedication and hard work, he received a public service/pro bono award. In recognition of his various accomplishments, the University of La Verne awarded him with the Paul Egly Endowed Scholarship. James was ultimately admitted to the California Bar on December 3, 2012.
