Putting a New Face on Chocolate, Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

Activities include a ChocoDoodle contest for kids, a prize wheel, business card raffle for free chocolate business cards, live chocolate printing, and free chocolate samples.  Festivities begin at noon and include an appearance by Ruffle the Truffle, the company’s mascot.

The store uses innovative ink-jet technology and edible inks to print full-color images on specially prepared chocolate forms. In other words, Tasty Image can print on chocolate virtually anything that can be printed on paper—photographs, logos, messages, art work, and more.

“This technology is unique and different, and we’re very excited to bring it to life in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area,” said Nelson Bendeck, who owns and runs the franchise operation with his wife, Sara.  “People love seeing their own photo on chocolate, and they also get a big kick out of watching the whole printing process.”  

Located on Westfield Montgomery’s lower level, near the entrance to Macy’s and the movie theaters, Tasty Image offers customizable chocolate coins, lollipops, cards, and framed portraits. They will even take your photograph at the store, then print it on a chocolate lollipop or card while you watch.

“We provide a fun personal touch that makes a big difference at parties, events and for virtually any gift-giving occasion,” said Mercedes Bendeck, who serves as the company’s Chief Chocolate Catering Specialist. “What could be more romantic than receiving a one-of-a-kind, edible chocolate Valentine from your sweetheart with their picture on it?”  

In addition to printed chocolates, Tasty Image sells a wide selection of fine truffles and other chocolate treats, including chocolate turtles, nut clusters, and fudge. The store also boasts a do-it-yourself “Chocolate Fun-Do” dessert bar, where customers can pour three types of chocolate—milk, dark, and white—on a variety of items, such as pretzels, marshmallows, cookies, fruits, and nuts.

Besides their in-store offerings, Tasty Image offers a full range of chocolate catering services. Their signature service is the Live Chocolate Photo Booth, where they come to your event, take pictures of your guests, then print out customized chocolate party favors while your guests watch. Other catering services include party platters and a gourmet chocolate buffet.

The store is among the first group of franchisees for the Tasty Image business, which began in 2003 and currently is based in Jupiter, Florida.
