Parkmobile, the leading provider of mobile payment solutions to municipalities and parking providers around the world has expanded its mobile payment program in the District of Columbia with the announcement today that PayPal is now accepted as a payment option for both new and existing customers.
“The Parkmobile DC program is one of the most successful mobile payment implementations in the United States, with tens of thousands of members utilizing the service each day” said Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile. “We are constantly working to make our mobile payment solution more convenient and we are extremely excited to add PayPal as a new payment option. In addition, the PayPal payment option allows cash-preferred residents and visitors to take advantage of Parkmobile’s mobile payment solution.”
Parkmobile was implemented District-wide in July 2011 allowing DC residents, visitors and businesses to pay for parking via their cell phone or mobile device. Since implementation, almost 500,000 people have registered as Parkmobile members in the DC area.
To use Parkmobile’s service, parkers register for free by setting up an account at www.parkmobile.com, or download the mobile app. Once registered, members can use the mobile app, the internet, or a toll- free number to pay for parking. Existing and new members can select PayPal as a payment method via their account at www.parkmobile.com or from their mobile app (available for iPhone & Android), through which they can initiate and manage their parking payments.
