The Popular Honda Civic has Been Redesigned for the 2013 Model Year

Silko Honda is proud to be able to offer drivers the 2013 Honda Civic, which boasts significant changes over its predecessors.

Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- At Silko Honda in Rayhnam, Massachusetts, the new 2013 Honda Civic has now arrived, and it’s got some much-anticipated changes both inside and out. The Civic just entered its ninth generation, but Honda decided that it needed a bit of an overhaul for 2013. Now the Civic is set to reclaim its place at the top of the competitive compact car segment. This is highly unusual in a generally slow-moving automotive industry, where years of careful research and development are put into even the most minor change in vehicles. Honda is confident that the new version of the Civic is the right move, and that automotive consumers will appreciate the upgraded interior, new exterior styling, and improved technology features.

First off, the 2013 Honda Civic has a much-upgraded interior. Materials are of higher quality. The center stack is remodeled with accents that resemble brushed aluminum. Now standard on the Civic is sophisticated technology like a 5-inch LCD display with a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and smartphone integration.

Outside, the Civic also gets upgraded styling. The grille and rear tail lights get tasteful polished chrome accents. The front fascia is more aggressive, with swooping lines and angular headlights. The new bent-spoke alloy wheels only help to increase the excitement factor.

Honda engineers also added a stiffer reinforced chassis. The change is designed to improve frontal-offset crash safety and scores in the corresponding Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s new crash test. In addition to safety, the stiffened body provides improved driving dynamics. Honda engineers were also able to improve the suspension system with new springs, struts, and an anti-roll bar, and they also added bigger brakes. These changes generally improve both handling and stopping performance.
