At SPORTIME Syosset, “10 and Under Tennis” helps new and younger students to enjoy the game right away. With kid-sized courts and equipment, traditional frustrations, like waiting in line to hit the ball and not being able to rally over the net, are removed and young players can play quickly and develop a lifetime passion for a lifetime sport. The Carnival will include refreshments, arts and crafts, and multi-sport games, in addition to plenty of tennis. New York Live Community Outreach will also be on site to offer its Child ID program. For more information on the Carnival or on 10 and Under Tennis, Multi-Sport programs, and Junior tennis clinics offered at SPORTIME Syosset, parents can call 516-364-2727 or email MultiSportSyt@
At SPORTIME Bethpage, area players can tour the newly renovated facility, home to the John McEnroe Academy Annex since September 2012, and watch McEnroe and his staff train JMTA Rising Stars. McEnroe and SPORTIME have assembled a talented staff of world-class teaching and fitness professionals, to make John’s vision of a New York-based, non-residential tennis academy a reality. The flagship JMTA at SPORTIME Randall’s Island opened in September, 2010, and was joined by Annexes at Bethpage and in Westchester in 2012.
In addition to training nationally and internationally ranked junior players, and those aspiring to become top-level competitors and college scholarship recipients, JMTA also offers MacStart, the John McEnroe 10 and Under training model. Registration is on-going for all programs. For details, call 516-933-8500 or MKossoff@SportimeNY.com.
