ABOUT BILL

Hamel’s assent through the music industry coincides with the electronic dance music phenomenon of the early/mid 90’s. Top UK progressive house DJ and former Mixmag Magazine editor Dave Seaman signed his first original production - Insight “Prophecy” to his own Stress Records. In 2001 Hamel was a featured artist in URB Magazine’s prestigious “Next 100” issue.  Bill’s bootleg of Lamb’s trip-hop masterpiece “Gorecki” was submitted to Jive Records and scored him a deal to remix Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River”, which subsequently went to number one with a bullet on the Billboard dance charts in 2001.   Bill’s work with BT on “Last Moment Of Clarity” along with retooling of artists’ works such as Gabriel & Dresden, Sander Kleinenberg and Jacques Lu Cont and a side project - Audio Magnetics with Barry Jamieson of Sasha fame, whose first song, “Ghetto Blasta Deluxe”, was Pete Tong's ESSENTIAL TUNE in February of 2005, and became one of the anthems of that year's Winter Music Conference all gained Bill Hamel a reputation in the industry as a gifted remixer/producer, leading him to achieve an astounding EIGHTEEN #1 remixes and another fifteen top 10 placements on the Billboard dance chart remixing topping acts such as U2, Madonna, New Order, Marilyn Manson, Gwen Stefani & Pharell, Brittany Spears, Paramore, Ne Yo, The Crystal Method, Taryn Manning, Enrique Iglesias and Rihanna.
