Capitol City Brewing Company Hires Kristi Mathews Griner as New Director of Brewing Operations

Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C. – Capitol City Brewing Company, DC’s first brewpub since Prohibition, announced today the appointment of Kristi Mathews Griner as its new Director of Brewing Operations. Griner begins her position on February 15 and will oversee all beer production for both the Shirlington and DC locations as well as recipe development, public outreach, customer relations and management for the annual Mid-Atlantic Oktoberfest Beer Festival.

        A twenty-five year veteran of the restaurant industry, Griner found her new passion for crafting beer in the summer of 2007 after moving into the brewery at Hops Grill and Brewery. She is the 2009 recipient of the AB Vickers Scholarship for the Concise Course in Brewing Technology at Siebel Institute of Technology, America's oldest brewing school, followed by Siebel's Draft Master program in 2012. Previously, Griner served as head brewer at Vintage 50 in Leesburg, Virginia where she created 15 new beer recipes and revitalized its bar scene.
