10th Annual Strategic Alliance Management Congress to take place May 6-8, 2013 in Philadelphia

Celebrating a Decade of Advancing Pharmaceuticals through Collaborations & Partnerships

Jan. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI) is excited to announce the agenda for the Tenth Annual Strategic Alliance Management Congress, to be held May 6-8, 2013 in Philadelphia.  Each year, the meeting convenes leaders in alliance management, business development, technology transfer and licensing, to network, share experiences, discuss case studies, and trade insights into the components that cultivate successful partnerships.

Within the pharmaceutical industry there is a growing emphasis on alliances and collaboration with external organizations driven by the need to access innovation, fill product pipelines, and develop companion diagnostics. While alliances are not new to industry, increasing efforts to forge partnerships with diagnostic companies, venture capitalists, government and academic research centers, present unfamiliar challenges for creating operational harmony. The alliance management function operates as a central driver for value generation between partnering organizations; alleviating perturbations, while striving to meet alliance goals.

Delegates of  the 2013 meeting will have the opportunity to connect with global industry peers, including a notable speaking faculty of pharma, academia and industry experts.  Presenting companies include: Acorda Therapeutics, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Biogen Idec, Daiichi Sankyo, Emergent Biosolutions, GlaxoSmithKline, ImmunoGen, Integrated Project Management, Janssen Diagnostics, Merck & Co., MIT, NIH, Novartis Oncology, Osage University Partners, Partners HealthCare, Pfizer, PPD, Quintiles, Russian Corporation of Nanotechnology (RUSNANO), Sanofi, Threshold Pharmaceuticals, University of Pennsylvania, Vantage Partners, and VirtualScopics.

Through interactive presentations, panel discussions and case studies, the meeting will deliver strategies and tools for maximizing the value of partnerships. Topics to be covered include: Developing a Robust Alliance Management Strategy with Integration, Culture and Value Enhancements; Tools and Metrics for Assessing Success and Maintaining Healthy Alliances; Management throughout the Alliance Life Cycle; Practical Utilization of Alliance Management throughout a Variety of Partnership Types, Models and Strategies; and Resetting Alliances.

New additions to the 2013 program include two short course options: Alliance Manager as Interventionist: A Critical Role and Skill Set; and Stratified Medicines: Rx and CDx Opportunities for Patients, Producers and Providers.
