Enjoy a Special Date Night

Tired of dinner and a movie? Shake it up with a special date at Hill-Stead Museum (in Farmington, Conn.) or the New Britain Museum of American Art.

On Thursday, February 7 from 6-10pm, Hill-Stead Museum will host the Fourth Season Farm-to-Table Dinner, a special feast prepared by Max’s Oyster Bar Executive Chef Scott Miller and Chef de Cuisine Michael Lee. The meal features locally grown foods from Connecticut farms, paired with local wines and brews (donated by Thomas Hooker Brewing Co). Before the meal begins, enjoy a romantic stroll through Hill-Stead Museum’s collections.

If your sweetie enjoys music, a date night at the New Britain Museum of American Art’s special Sunday Concert Series featuring Broadway and Cabaret love songs may be the perfect plan. The event, Hymne ὰ l'Amour (Hymn to Love) will take place on Sunday, February 10 from 3-4pm. Music from Weill, Gershwin, Porter, Gardel and Monnot will fill the Museum. Take the whole day, or just a few hours, to enjoy the Museum’s many galleries during your visit.

FOR FAMILIES

Get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day with your entire family at the Greenwich Historical Society. On Sunday, February 10, the Society will host a special family program, Vintage Valentines, between noon and 4:00pm. Drop in for a 20-minute family-friendly tour of Bush-Holley House, which will be offered every half hour. Children can also participate in a heart-shaped yarn-stitching project during the tour, and view vintage cards from the collection of the MacRae family (residents of Bush-Holley House during the home’s art colony period). Participants may drop in at the Vanderbilt Education center before or after their tours to create their very own Valentine’s Day cards; all craft materials included in entrance fee. For more information visit: greenwichhistory.org.

FOR SINGLES

During the Valentine’s Day season the Art Trail has something for everyone – even singles! Museum After Dark: Love, Lust & Lautrec, is a fun networking event to be hosted by the New Britain Museum of American Art on Friday, February 15 from 8pm-midnight. This post-Valentine’s Day party includes admission to the Museum, exhibits, music, light food, open beer and wine bar, and specialty drinks.  Performances will include a belly dancer, object manipulator, psychic and the Newtown CT Jugglers and Circus Art Club.  Enjoy a drink with friends, a little dancing and explore the galleries and new Lautrec exhibition.
