Frances Peabody was a brave little dachshund who was born in a small New England town. She was a very sick puppy when she came into the world, but was able to overcome her illness, move to New York City, and become a world traveler.
This book is the first in a series about this beloved little dog. The author grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts, which is the neighboring town where this tale begins. She spent her summers on the island of Nantucket, a setting for future books. The first-time author is a former teacher who now runs a pet-sitting service in Manhattan. “I have three other completed books: a counting book, a short story about a beekeeper who lives in Brooklyn, and a story about a pig named Higgilty Piggilty, who gathers an unlikely group of friends together for a Thanksgiving meal. I also have several other books in the works in addition to the follow-up book about Frances in the Little Dachshund’s series.”
