North Carolina Ranks Third in Nation for Highest 6-Month CD Rates and Savings Account Rates

The report compares North Carolina interest rates against average U.S. deposit rates today, in an effort to direct consumers to the highest yield rates in their area. Findings from the report reveal that North Carolina ranks third in the nation for highest 6-Month CD Rates and savings account rates, and exceeds the national average for 1-year and 2-year CD rates.

Overall, North Carolina interest rates exceeds national average interest rates in all banking categories analyzed in the Go Banking Rates study including 6-month CD rates, 1-year CD rates, 2-year CD rates and savings account rates.

North Carolina deposit rates are as follows: 6-month CD rates (0.42% APY), 1-year CD rates (0.54% APY), 2-year CD rates (0.73% APY) and savings account rates (0.29% APY). Comparatively, national deposit rate averages fell below North Carolina rates at 0.31% APY, 0.46% APY, 0.69% APY and 0.21% APY, respectively.
