Many participants shared that their experience was one close to the heart.
One participant, Mr. David Day, said of the workshop, “As an active member of the Center for the Studies of the Person, I embrace the sanctity of an "I-Thou" relationship between people. This kind of respect for the other, the child, as a human being, is fully embraced in the P.E.T. ethos. Through the practice of the skills, I experienced a strong, personal connection with my fellow instructors. I believe that, with diligence and perseverance, a similar closeness will evolve with the families we teach. The content of the instruction is thorough, and experiential:
When asked about his future plans as a Certified Instructor, Day said, “I plan on incorporating the full P.E.T. and Y.E.T. instruction into our "Teen-Encounters"
The P.E.T. workshop was the first of its kind that introduced methods like Active Listening, I-Messages, No-Lose Conflict Resolution and The Behavior Window.
