Benjamin Levisay of XRX, Inc. brings passion for the fiber industry to not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing chemotherapy patients with volunteer-crafted hats

Jan. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Arlington Heights, Ill. – January 21, 2013 – Halos of Hope (http://www.halosofhope.org/) announced today that Benjamin Levisay has joined the organization as a member of the Board of Directors. Levisay, CEO of XRX, Inc., brings his more than 20 years of experience in the fiber industry to the not-for-profit organization.

“Benjamin has been a great friend and partner to Halos of Hope for many years,” said Pamela Haschke, president and founder of Halos of Hope. “In this new role, he will work with us more closely as we continue to expand the number of cancer centers, patients and volunteers we are able to reach.”

Levisay is a second-generation partner in XRX, Inc., (http://www.knittinguniverse.com/) a 28-year-old company started by his uncle, father, and their business partner. XRX, Inc. publishes Knitter’s Magazine and XRX Books as well as promotes STITCHES Expos all over the country. Levisay started his career in the fiber industry when his family opened a yarn shop in Sioux Falls, S.D., when he was a small boy. That business later evolved into XRX. After taking time away from the business to pursue a career in the software industry, Levisay rejoined the company in 2006. Levisay is widely known for his social media presence as well as being one of the hosts of STITCHES.

“The fiber community has always been a passion of mine,” said Levisay. “I’m elated to be joining Halos of Hope. No other organization embodies the very best of the fiber and cancer support communities like Halos of Hope and I look forward to serving as an advisor as they continue to grow.”
