Exclusive to the DSX100, new anti-halation adaptors use polarised lighting to control reflection from the LED illumination ring. This eliminates artefacts derived from the light reflection at glossy surfaces and opens up new possibilities in colour reproduction, making the detailed detection of specific areas for analysis as clear as possible. Furthermore, the DSX100 is now compatible with the DSX-UFSSU motorised stage. This enables the operator to take advantage of the full range of ergonomic automation features, such as the Macro map function which increases convenience and ease-of-use by indicating the actual observation position on the specimen in a separate low magnification view.
Olympus has also made significant improvements to 3D image quality in both the DSX100 and DSX500. The DSX100 offers highly reliable 3D visualisation while the DSX500 now creates superb 3D data which are coming close to the OLS4000 laser measuring microscope system. These upgrades allow for clear and precise 3D imaging and analysis of complex surface topologies for accurate sample measurements.
All three DSX series systems are now additionally supported for Windows 7 64 bit. For further information on all the improved features, please visit the Olympus website, www.olympus-
