Capital Corp Merchant Banking and its client for $36.5M Resort Bahamas Resort Town project part ways

Capital Corp had entered into a funding agreement with its client back in August 2012 to provide funding for a Bahamas masterplan resort. The reason for this parting of ways was the defaulting of the client on the Investment Proposal that was signed.

PRLog - Jan. 22, 2013 - The funding agreement was for a masterplan town resort design (see PRWeb article) that was to include a luxury resort, commercial town center, water park, mega yacht marina, luxury gated community, and golf course. Back when the Investment Proposal was signed, Capital Corp's client had wished the project to remain anonymous until such time as it was mature enough to be disclosed to local authorities and the Bahamian government. At that time a local journalist had contacted Capital Corp Merchant Banking (see article by K Quincy Parker), to which Capital Corp privately replied that all would be made known in time once the government was made aware of this development - which was unfortunately kept from print in the article.

As work on the master plan project progressed, discrepancies came up and the client ultimately defaulted on its initial representations made to Capital Corp in order to obtain an Investment Proposal, the core elements of which were not respected.  This ultimately led to Capital Corp Merchant Banking's unfortunate decision to withdraw from the project.  Nevertheless, as there are no animosities between the parties, Capital Corp decided not to pursue due compensation and parted amicably with its client.
