Virtually everyone has experienced sneezing, a running nose or itchy eyes after cleaning their home. The condition is often caused by exposure to household dusts that have become airborne. This same dust can trigger asthma symptoms in some people. Aeroallergens can even interact with other harmful air pollution to worsen various respiratory diseases.
“Household dust can contain a number of different allergens,” reported Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates, the company behind the IAQ Video Network and the new public outreach video. “They can range from dust mites and pollen to pet dander and mold. House dust may even contain lead and asbestos in some circumstances. We hope this video helps to educate people about house dust allergens and their indoor air quality.”
