National Go RED for Women Day!!

Join us on Friday February 1st in the fight against heart disease for women during National Wear Red Day.

Jan. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- On Friday February 1st the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Chi Beta Omega Chapter located in Falls Church, Virginia will join millions in the fight against heart disease for women during National Wear Red Day.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death of American women, killing more than one third of the population. Upwards of 42 million women currently live with some form of cardiovascular disease [1]. More specifically, 5.8% of all white women, 7.6% of black women, and 5.6% of Mexican American women are currently living with coronary heart disease [2]. Since 1984, more women then men have died each year from heart disease and the gap between men and women's survival continues to widen. While one in 31 American women dies from breast cancer each year, heart disease causes one in three deaths each year [3].

Please help Chi Beta Omega support this very important cause by wearing red on Friday February 1st to show your awareness of heart disease and it’s impact on the female population.
