Corporate Video That Doesn't Break The Bank

With literally tens of thousands of corporate video production companies promoting their services the question of cost raises far more questions than answers.  While some companies promise an all-singing-all-dancing corporate video for a few hundred pounds the majority are more vague about cost least they frighten off a prospect client before they get around to picking up the phone.  As unbelievable as it sounds there are individuals and companies out there offering a two minute video production for five pounds.  Considering that twenty years ago a rule of thumb for video production was around a thousand pounds a minute something is obviously adrift here, so what should you expect to pay?

Remember, a video only has to be as complicated as you or the production company want to make it. Your video is about getting your message out there to the rest of the world and if budget is a major consideration then keep that message as simple as possible.  You don’t need special effects, whizzing graphics and cameras that fly through buildings, you need a simple straightforward message that people will understand.  Some of the greatest movies ever made never had so much as a zoom lens shot or a special effect.  I don’t think the acronym KISS meaning Keep It Simple Stupid was specifically coined for the video industry but there are very few places where it is more applicable - especially when it comes to keeping down the costs.
