British Minigolf Association season to tee-off with the BMGA Star City Open in Birmingham

Fifth National Ranking Minigolf Tournament to be held on the Lost Hut Trail Adventure Island Mini Golf course at Star City, Birmingham.

Jan. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 British Minigolf Association season begins on Sunday 27th January when the Adventure Island Mini Golf course at Star City, Birmingham hosts the BMGA Star City Open.

Over 30 British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour players, along with a number of local competitors, are expected to be in action over three rounds (54-holes) on the challenging Lost Hut Trail 18-hole indoor Adventure Mini Golf course. The tournament will tee-off at 9am and the entry fee is £20.

The 2013 BMGA Star City Open competition will be the fifth national ranking minigolf tournament the Adventure Island Mini Golf course has hosted. In recent months the team at the course have added new obstacles to the course to add to the challenge.

John Whitehead from Adventure Island Mini Golf said "All of us at Adventure Island Mini Golf are looking forward to welcoming the BMGA to Star City for the first event of the 2013 Tour. We hope the recent course additions add to the challenge for the best mini golfers in the country."

Last year Birmingham’s Chris Harding won the BMGA Star City Open, defeating defending champion Michael Smith in a sudden-death play-off at the fourth extra hole. In 2009 the course hosted the first BMGA Star City Open, which was won by Chris Harding, followed by the 2010 BMGA National Open, also won by Harding.
