For more information about Cindy’s Hope Chest visit their website at http://cindyshopechest.org. Joined by the Indian Trail Business Network and Cash Mob Charlotte, RelyLocal invites people to show-up at 4:45 pm (look for the cash mob sign) to participate in the cash mob and support the local business. Bring at least $20 to spend for a “double” good cause - supporting a local business and a local charity. Students in the Beta Club at Porter Ridge High School will be there to support the community and hand out goody bags to the first 25 participants that show up for the Cash Mob event. What is a Cash Mob? Perhaps you have heard of “flash mobs,” where a mass of people invade a public space to make a scene. Now the idea has been turned on its head by “cash mobs,” where crowds of consumers show up to spend money at local businesses. It's a growing local trend targeting small businesses across the country. These events not only support locally-owned businesses, but they are fun and create excitement in bringing people together to build a stronger, greater sense of community. Small businesses all over America have seen cash mobs pop up and typically double their normal sales in a given day. These cash mobs can vary in size from a few people to a few hundred; the more people who attend, the greater the success in supporting local businesses. End
