Cook was the first candidate to throw his "hat in the ring" for his 2014 candidacy on Nov. 7, 2012, just after the 2012 campaign closed. During that campaign, Cook received 5,682 votes, coming short of claiming a seat on the Hemet City Council but gaining more votes than any other Democratic Candidate in the history of Hemet City Elections, even through it was a non-partisan office.
"I am looking for Democratic Party-affiliated candidates to run for different offices around the San Jacinto Valley region. These are for local, regional, state and national offices", said Cook.
"I am also looking for Democratic Party-affiliated members for the Candidate and Government Outreach Committee".
Cook further stated that his goal is to groom solid, Democratic Party-affiliated candidates to run for office, to ensure the California Democratic Party Platform is represented locally in the policy and opinion-setting processes in local community conversations and government. He also wants to see a balance to the Tea Party platform, which was strengthened locally in the last election.
