"ELEVEN YEAR OLD GIRL CHEF"
Palm Springs, CA: "CV Studios Entertainment has completed principal photography on the television pilot for a new cooking show filmed locally at Kitchen Kitchen in Indian Wells," stated Carole Sumner Krechman, CEO, CV Studios Entertainment and co-founder, CCO Leanna Bonamici. Produced and directed by Bonamici, the show titled 'Cooking It Up With Karly' ultilized all local filmmaking professionals in the production of this pilot.
'Cooking It Up With Karly' stars Karly Smith, only eleven years old, but as she says, she's been cooking for 6 years. Her focus is on teaching her generation how to cook and eat healthier foods for a longer and more energized life.
For the first two episodes, Karly prepared healthy versions of a Taco Salad and Salsa, and an upside down meal: Breakfast Pizza for dinner with Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream for dessert.
Karly enlisted the help of a couple of good friends. Susan Stafford, the original letter turner on Wheel of Fortune, chopped tomatoes, and football great Rosey Grier donned pink protective glasses to mince the onions. Her Mom, Dawn Smith, lent another pair of hands at the stove.
Jan Boydston of Kitchen Kitchen demonstrated the latest in kitchen gadgets. And, topping if off was a crowd-drawing performance by local band, One 11.
'Cooking It Up With Karly' will appeal to young people as well as parents and grandparents. Preparing a meal together is also a time to talk, share, and experiment. And even the 'older generation' can't help but enjoy the energy and talent of One 11. We all look forward to seeing more of Karly.
