L.A.T.E. Ride 2013 to Support Chicago Parks

Jan. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Cycling enthusiasts need to mark their calendars for Saturday, June 30, 2013 for the 25th annual L.A.T.E. Ride (http://www.lateride.org/), one of biggest cycling events in the United States, and a fun Chicago tradition. This overnight bike ride around the city allows cyclists to enjoy a different perspective of late night Chicago while riding through 25 miles of the city’s diverse neighborhoods and along the magnificent shoreline of Lake Michigan.

This unique bicycling experience is more than just a chance to get together with friends and ride around the city at night. Proceeds from the 2013 ride go to benefit the Friends of the Park, an organization whose events go to restoring, beautifying, and improving Chicago’s parks.

Since 2013 marks the 25th anniversary of the L.A.T.E. Ride, this year’s ride will feature a new bike route to take in some of Chicago’s unique sights. Previous L.A.T.E Rides have started and ended at Buckingham Fountain, and participants can still make suggestions on neighborhoods or landmarks that they’d like included on this year’s route. Just check out the L.A.T.E. Ride Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LATERide). The June 30, 2013 date is still tentative, and more information will be posted as it becomes available.

Those that are interested in participating in the 2013 L.A.T.E. Ride to support the Friends of the Park can register online for a fee starting at $25. Registration fee prices vary for volunteers, individuals, and groups. The registration fee for the 2013 L.A.T.E. Ride will include:

•    L.A.T.E. Ride T-shirt
•    Pocket-size Ride Guide with official route map
•    Goody Bag with coupons and snacks
•    Bicycle repair and support if needed
•    Live entertainment at the start of the ride
•    Snacks and water at a rest stop along the route
•    Refreshments at the finish line
