PRLog - Jan. 17, 2013 - WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne NJ: Monsignor Richard Tofani, Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies for the Diocese of Trenton, NJ, and pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Hainesport, NJ, has returned from a ten day trip to Mozambique, Africa where he spent time with Xaverian missionaries there. Last November he contacted Fr. Carl Chudy, SX, US Provincial Superior, at the Xaverian Provincial House in Wayne, NJ regarding the possibility of a “first hand” mission experience with the Xaverians in an African country to occur the first week of January 2013. This is the first time there has been this kind of diocesan collaboration with the Xaverian Missionaries.

Fr. Carl Chudy was delighted at the prospect trusting it will lead to a dynamic relationship with the Diocese of Trenton connecting the Church at home and the Church in Mission.
Describing his journey of discovery Msgr. Tofani stated: “The visit to the missions in Mozambique was exciting, enlightening and humbling. The people of that nation are among the most joyful I have ever met. I will always be grateful for the hospitality and assistance offered to me by the Xaverians in Mozambique. All of these men are outstanding priests and truly caring individuals.”
Msgr. Tofani noted further, “Although it is nice to be home, a part of my heart remains in Mozambique.”
Fr. Chudy echoed his sentiments envisioning the expanded horizons of the American Church.
