Scoop Dogg avalanche shovel with revolutionary design
Unique no-handle snow tool developed for backcountry and avy rescue
DENVER, CO – 01/17/13 – Scoop Dogg (http://www.scoopdogg.me) today announced a new line of patent pending snow shovels designed specifically for backcountry winter and avalanche rescue use. The unique design of the three shovel sizes eliminates the permanent or collapsing handle associated with traditional snow shovels. “The Scoop Dogg fits in your pack, requires no assembly, is very ergonomic for any sized person and enables you move a lot of snow when it’s life or death,” said Johann Sigurdson, Lead Designer. “The blade shape, how you hold it and use it, as well as some of the smaller features deliver a compact snow tool that will be your new best friend whether you ski, board or snowmobile.”
The line of snow shovels is constructed from 6061 T-6 aluminum and comes in three sizes ranging from a blade that is 10” by 12” to a blade that is 12” by 16” and weigh 510g to 840g respectively.
To celebrate the product release Scoop Dogg will award $100 and a Scoop Dogg to the persons that submit the best name “Dogg” name for each of the models. All name ideas must be submitted to via the Scoop Dogg Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/
